WHO
WE ARE
HealthFirstPA is a coalition of healthcare professionals, public health advocates, parents, and faith leaders working to raise awareness of the health impacts of air and water pollution as well as climate change threats, support frontline communities whose health is directly impacted by environmental pollutants, and advocate for policies that prioritize public health for Pennsylvania families especially communities of color and low-income communities who are disproportionately impacted by pollution.
We envision a world where all Pennsylvanians have equitable access to clean air, pristine water, and a stable climate in order to safeguard public health.

The Center for Coalfield Justice fights for coalfield communities through advocacy, education, and organizing. Southwestern Pennsylvania is home to the largest producing underground coal mine in North America and has over three thousand fracked gas drilling and midstream operations. The Center for Coalfield Justice is working with residents in Washington and Greene Counties to shift the power to determine what future they deserve back to the people who love and care about the places they call home.
The Clean Air Council is Philadelphia's oldest environmental non-profit. Founded before the EPA, before Earth Day, and before the modern Clean Air Act, we have been fighting for everyone's right to breathe clean air since 1967. We work on the issues most relevant to the region, so our programs are always changing.
Earthworks is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting communities and the environment from the adverse impacts of mineral and energy development while promoting sustainable solutions. Earthworks stands for clean air, water and land, healthy communities, and corporate accountability. We work for solutions that protect both the Earth’s resources and our communities.
The Environmental Health Project (EHP) is a nonprofit public health organization that assists and supports residents of Southwestern Pennsylvania and beyond who believe their health has been, or could be, impacted by shale gas development (SGD).
The Evangelical Environmental Network (EEN) educates, inspires, and mobilizes Christians in their effort to care for creation, to get involved in regions of the United States and the world impacted by pollution, and to advocate for actions and policies that protect the environment.
Moms Clean Air Force is a community of over one million moms and dads united against air pollution – including the urgent crisis of our changing climate – to protect our children’s health. We fight for Justice in Every Breath, recognizing the importance of equitable solutions in addressing air pollution and climate change.
